Pottery Classes
The Potters Place runs pottery classes for the Juvenile Assistance Corporation, who is in connection with the Clackamas County Social Services. We run these classes free of charge in hopes to help children build confidence, learn a new hobby and have a creative outlet. If you have any questions, or know of a child that could benefit from these classes please feel free to contact us.
I love being a pottery teacher and I am very dedicated to my studio and the students that come and go. Our mission is to give children and adults the opportunity to play in clay (or learn a craft/hobby/career). Most ceramic classes in the area are quite expensive and most of the times crowded. We offer a private setting with professional equipment at a low cost. We fill the gap for those that do not want to commit to an expensive, time consuming class.
We also believe that clay holds a very therapeutic value, both emotionally and physically. This is why we work with the Juvenile Assistance Corp. in teaching children a creative outlet. Our studio provides a safe learning enviornment where they can be themselves, grow and learn to express themselves in a healthy creative way.
If you know of a child or non-profit organization that could benefit from these classes living here in the area, please feel free to contact us.
